Packing for Travel

My goal 2014 has been to "lighten up" -
literally and figuratively. :)

I have been successful at reducing the number of mobile devices I haul around - but I also decided to "travel light."
Now I go "carry-on" - no checked bags if it is at all possible.

I took a lesson from my son (the one who used to throw his clothes on the floor :) now in the Navy - he taught me how to properly fold and roll to fit more into a bag than I would have thought possible . . . and without wrinkling!

Are you a "roller?" "folder" or a "cuber?"
I wanted to learn how to use:
Packing Cubes, Garment Folders and Folding Boards.

I discovered numerous helpful websites and YouTube videos covering travel wardrobes and packing tips as well as great travel gadgets ...
I LOVE gadgets :)

As sewing enthusiasts we can readily make many of these travel aids for ourselves!

Drop by Marcy Tilton's website for inspiration!

I am still busy browsing the local Thrift Stores and gathering items to cut, stencil and stitch or serge back together!

Marcy's website is always my "go to" to get inspired and I use her patterns to recut existing garments.

I also have her and Katherine's videos (CD Workshops) for great live "how to" instruction.
